Ashlar is not a real company. This website is a portfolio piece built for a fictional London builder. This page lists what the site actually stores in your browser, which isn’t much.
Last updated 31 October 2026.
The short version
Browsing the site sets no cookies at all: no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. That’s why there’s no cookie banner: there’s nothing to agree to.
The site does keep one small note in your browser, so that the opening animation doesn’t replay on every page. It doesn’t identify you and never leaves your browser.
What’s stored in your browser
- ashlar-loaded (session storage). Makes sure the opening animation only plays on the first page you visit. It’s cleared when you close the tab.
The animations also follow your device’s “reduce motion” setting. The site reads that setting each time a page loads; it doesn’t store it.
If you sign in
Only the site’s administrator signs in to the dashboard. The sign-in page and the dashboard use WordPress’s own cookies to keep them signed in (wordpress_logged_in_…, wordpress_sec_… and wordpress_test_cookie) and to remember how they like the dashboard laid out (wp-settings-…).
The sign-in cookies last two days, or two weeks if “Remember me” is ticked. The layout ones last a year. None of them are set on the public pages.
Other companies’ cookies
None. The fonts, photos and scripts are all served from this site, and there are no embedded maps, videos, social feeds or analytics, so no other company can set cookies through it.
If a real Ashlar added analytics, those cookies would be listed here and the site would ask for your consent before setting them.
Clearing it
You can delete anything this site has stored from your browser’s settings, usually under “Privacy” or “Site data”. Nothing breaks if you do: the opening animation simply plays once more.
For what happens to the details you send through the quote form, see the Privacy page.
