What people ask
at the first visit.
Do I need planning permission?
Most rear extensions and dormer lofts fall under permitted development, so you don’t. If yours doesn’t, or you’re in a conservation area, we tell you at the first visit and handle the application with the architect.
Can we stay in the house during the work?
On most extensions and lofts, yes. We set up a temporary kitchen if you need one and seal off the work area. Basements and whole-house jobs usually mean moving out for part of the build.
What isn’t included in the fixed price?
Architect fees, loose furniture and appliances you choose yourself. Anything we can’t see until we open up, like what’s behind a wall, goes in as a separate line with a ceiling. Priya can’t stand open-ended provisional sums, so ours always have a maximum.
How soon can you start?
We’re booking starts for March 2027. Surveys and design can begin now, so you’re ready when your slot comes up.
Do you work outside north and east London?
We work within about five miles of our yard in N1: Islington, Hackney, Camden, Haringey and Tower Hamlets. It’s how your site manager can be with you in 20 minutes.
